Last year's first quarter produced an average sale price of $280 177.00 for the average home in Barrie - 3 bedrooms and 1612 square feet of living space. These homes took on average 41 days to sell and sold on average for 97.88% of the asking or listing price. Looking at this year's first quarter results, they are strikingly similar. 2011 first quarter yielded 422 sales of single family detached homes, selling for an average price of $284 532.00. These homes were on average 1655 square feet and took on average 47 days to sell. The sold to list price dropped just a little to 97.54%.
So far, the conclusion must be that values are staying strong in the Barrie housing market, even climbing slightly. It does look like, however, that buyers out there are taking their time and really scrutinizing the inventory before making offers. Steady as she goes!

First Quarter sales of detached homes within Barrie city limits reaches 422. This number is down ever so slightly from 2010 where 425 single family detached homes sold with in the city's limits.
